Brain Tree Primary School Art

Uganda has over 30 tribal languages. The 'mother tongue' in Kyanja is Luganda. English is introduced in Primary School and is part of the curriculum for older students. The animal reports in the art gallery were created for The Shipley School before Brain Tree had a library. Most of what is written in the reports is based on the children's own knowledge of each animal and written in their 'second' language, English.
